Paul Mooty, Board President
Paul Mooty, President, is a lifelong Edina resident and a Partner and CFO of Faribault Woolen Mills. Paul is a current member and past President of the Rotary Club of Edina and serves on the Fairview Southdale Hospital Board of Directors. He and his wife Jean live in the Parkwood Knolls neighborhood and have three children.
Mamie Segall, Vice President
Mamie is the Chief Administrative Officer for Fairview Pharmacy and Shared Clinical Services. She has overall responsibility for contracting, regulatory compliance, risk management, and public policy.
Mamie has over 25 years of experience in health care public policy, business and legal leadership, including over 10 years prosecuting health care fraud and leading health law legislative policy efforts as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Minnesota Attorney General.
She and her husband, Bill Sierks, live in The Heights neighborhood of Edina and have three children. She has served on the Edina Public Schools’ Gifted Advisory Committees, the Edina Soccer Board and has been an active school and community volunteer. Mamie is an Economics and Political Science graduate of the University of Wisconsin and Harvard Law School.
Steven McDonald, Treasurer
Steven is the Managing Partner of Abdo Eick & Meyers LLP, which is located in the Grandview Square Office building very near the Foundation’s office in the Edina Library and Senior Center. He has 22 years of experience auditing local governments in Minnesota and regularly conducts client seminars on audit preparation, internal controls and GASB Statement implementation and compliance.
Steven has an accounting degree from Minot State University and lives in Minnetonka with his wife Jennifer and their three children.
Scot Housh, Secretary
Scot Housh is an insurance broker and the President and CEO of Willis of Minnesota. He was raised in Edina and graduated from Brown University. Scot served on the Edina City Council from 2001 through 2010 and joined the Foundation Board in July 2011. He has served on the Be The Match Foundation Board and as Co-chair of the Minnesota Bid Committee for the 2020 College Football Playoff Championship Game. He lives in the Country Club neighborhood with his wife Susie.
Katie has served on the Edina Soccer Board and is currently the head coach for the EHS Soccer team. She has a marketing/I.T. background and very strong organizational skills. Katie is well connected in the Edina community with strong relationship across age demographics. She lives in the South Harriet Park neighborhood with her husband David and three kids.
Ron Erhardt is a self-employed financial planner with a long record of public service to the Edina community. Elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1990, Ron has served Edina for 11 terms and received many awards for his leadership on transportation matters. He has served as Chair of the Edina Chamber of Commerce Government Relations Committee and on the Southdale YMCA Board of Management. He has academic degrees from the University of Minnesota and the Carlson School of Management. Ron lives in Edina’s Sunnyside neighborhood.
Tom Gump is a lawyer and real estate developer serving as "of counsel" with Stier Law Offices. He is President-Elect of Edina Moringside Rotary Club, which recently named him "Rotarian of the Year." He was Chair of the Community Involvement Programs Board of Directors and served on the Parks and Trails Council of Minnesota Board. He also chaired Edina's Construction Board of Appeals. Tom and his family live in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Edina.
Dr. Michele Herring
Dr. Herring is a partner at Sharpe, Dillon, Cockson & Associates, an internal medicine group. She and her husband, Andy, have raised four children in Edina. She has volunteered extensively on hospital committees, in the Edina Public schools and at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She provides medical care to low income, uninsured patients through St. Mary's Health Clinics. The Peggy Kelly Memorial Fund maintained by ECF honors her mother, a former Edina City Council member. Her family lives in the Hilldale neighborhood.
Jim Hovland, the Mayor of Edina, has served over 20 years on the Board. He is a partner in the Edina law firm of Hovland & Rasmus and a member of the I-494 Corridor Commission and the Regional Council of Mayors. He also belongs to the Edina Morningside Rotary Club and was recognized by the Edina Chamber of Commerce as its Business Person of the Year in 2004. Jim lives with his wife LaRae, a French teacher, in West Edina. One of his two daughters lives in Edina, and his grandchildren attend Edina Public Schools.
Andy Matysik is the Managing Partner of Punch & Associates Investment Management. He is also trustee off the Karleen/Valentine scholarship trust, which offers educational support for aspiring doctors from rural areas who attend the U of M Medical School. Andy and his wife, Jennifer, are passionate about supporting mission and related work, and they live with their four children in the Country Club neighborhood.
Jeff Ohe is the President of Cahill Financial Advisors. He is finishing his term and President of the Rotary Club of Edina and helped lead the Legacy Campaign for the Club's Foundation. He has also been active in the Edina Chamber of Commerce and the University of Minnesota Alumni Association. Jeff and his wife Ally and family live in Edina, and he enjoys running and golf as hobbies.
Richard Olson has a strong record of volunteer service to the Edina community, as Chair of the Veterans Memorial Committee, as Chair of the Foundation’s 4th of July Parade from 2009-2012, and in Board leadership positions for the Edina Soccer Association and Edina Basketball Association. He is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College, the University of St. Thomas (M.B.A) and the William Mitchell College of Law. Richard is the Vice President of Development and Donor Relations at the Catholic Community Foundation and lives in Edina’s South Harriet Park neighborhood with his wife Susan and two children.
A native Californian, Lana Slavitt has lived in Edina since 2004. Lana is a 1987 graduate of UC Berkeley and received an MBA from Northwestern University. Over the past 20 years she has held executive level positions focusing on marketing, strategic planning, M&A, and business development at Target, Yahoo!, Universal Studios and McKinsey & Company.
She is currently taking a hiatus from corporate life to focus on her family - husband Andy, who works out of Washington, DC; and sons, Caleb (16) and Zachary (almost 13).
She is active in the community and currently serves on the board of directors for the YWCA of Minneapolis and volunteers in her sons' school. Lana and her family live in the Highlands neighborhood.
Rebecca Bell Sorensen
Rebecca is a Massachusetts native who moved to Edina a decade ago following a career in cultural public relations. She "lives for building community by creating opportunities to bring people together. Mpls./St. Paul Magazine recognized her extensive involvement in charitable fundraising by describing her a "The Connector in a 2011 cover story on Our Housewives. She and her family live in the Morningside neighborhood.
Maxine Wallin is a long-time resident of Edina and one of our community’s leading philanthropists, continuing a strong tradition she began with her late husband, Winston Wallin. The Wallins began a college scholarship program in 1992 for students at South High School in Minneapolis who come from low- to moderate-income families. Maxine attended Macalester College and the University of Minnesota. She became a librarian at the University of Minnesota and a medical research librarian while the family lived in Utah. Maxine has four children and 13 grandchildren. She lives in the Braemar area of Edina.
