A Free Two-Part Event

All are welcome to view via Zoom the PBS documentary, Driving While Black: Race, Space and Mobility in America, and to participate in an optional, facilitated small group discussion. Based on Gretchen Sorin's book, "Driving While Black: African American Travel and the Road to Civil Rights" (W.W. Norton, 2020), the film shows "how the advent of the car brought new mobility and freedom for African Americans but also exposed them to discrimination and deadly violence, and how that history resonates today." — PBS promotional page.

The MNA and EMCUCC will host this free two-part event from 7 to 9 PM:

Part 1. Tuesday, 6/01 (film via Zoom). The film will start promptly at 7 PM and runs for just under two hours.

Part 2. Tuesday, 6/15 (small group discussions via Zoom and/or in person, open to all who viewed the film in Part 1 or on their own).
